FOOL OF REGRETS
At the end of 2005 The Zephyrs took an open ended break. In the previous six years they'd released four albums, a single, an EP plus three compilation tracks. They'd also appeared at the Reading and Leeds festivals (2001), Primavera Sound in Barcelona (2002), Banicassim twice (2003 & 2005) and fulfilled several tours on Spain, the UK and Italy. They release a new album, Fool of Regrets, in September 2010 on Club AC30 records preceded by single Creative Faith in August.
Check out MySpace for some previews: myspace.com/lagres. The Zephyrs are Stuart Nicol (guitar/vocals), David Nicol (bass) and Robert Dillam (drums). They were joined in 2009 by singer, guitarist Emily Hall and will be touring in summer 2010:

| ABOUT THE ALBUM The sessions for new album Fool of Regrets began as meandering home recordings in 2006; experimentation with acoustic and electronic instruments and computer recording techniques in free time from office work. Over the following years sessions moved to Marcus MacKay's Diving Bell Lounge studio in Glasgow and later to Michael Brennan's Substation studio in Fife. A variety of friends and acquaintances were pulled in to contribute to the project: local fife R&B band Baby Isaac performed as backing band on Wet outside dry in here; Mogwai's Barry Burns contributed Richard Manuelesque piano on Wet outside ... and Cooking along with Captain Beefheart inflected Fender Rhodes on The lonely trekker; Lisa Jen Brown, in the middle of a Gruff Rhys tour added backing vocals to Cooking, She walked me home, Wet outside ... and The lonely trekker; Gruff Rhys sang harmony on Wet outside ...; and Mary MacMaster (contributor to Sting's recent early music project) played harp like a drunken wedding party on She walked me home. |
